Middleton Wood Meadow: MK Schools Plant More of Their Wood

Schools tree planting week was a little more challenging this February because it clashed with industrial action by teachers. Nevertheless, six MK schools managed to plant more than 270 trees to add to the area of the Wood Meadow planted by MK schools.

Together with The Parks Trust, we were still able to increase the number to 400 overall by some last minute actions:
  • inviting families to plant with us on the strike day
  • getting MK Home Educators to fill a vacant slot on the Thursday, and
  • to celebrate another great tree planting season, staff from The Parks Trust and CTMK putting the final 40 trees in the ground on Monday lunchtime.

This takes the overall total number of trees planted at Middleton Wood Meadow and Middleton Community Garden since 2021 to more than 5000 – a fantastic community effort!
